Specify the equipment and surface together so the lane works for the way you train.

About Sleds, Ropes & Turf
Sled performance depends on more than the loaded weight. The contact surfaces, turf product, wear, cleanliness and direction of travel can all affect resistance. Treat the sled and lane as a combination. For a new setup, discuss a sample or agreed evaluation before committing to a large quantity. Training on a selected combination does not guarantee the same resistance as an official race.
Configuration & options
| Item | What to specify | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Sled | Frame, handles, loading arrangement, base contact and empty mass | Confirm the intended push and pull use |
| Loads | Compatible plates and safe loading arrangement | Nominal load does not alone describe resistance |
| Rope | Length, diameter, material, connection and end finish | Match grip, lane and storage requirements |
| Turf | Product, pile, backing, seams and adhesive system | Review the sled contact and prepared substrate |
| Lane plan | Width, working distance, markings and return route | Keep passing users clear of the active lane |
| Care | Cleaning, inspection and replacement criteria | Surface condition affects consistency over time |
Space & installation
Give us the available lane length and width, floor construction, expected concurrent users and direction of movement. Reserve storage away from the pulling path and enough room to unload or turn. The local installer must check substrate condition and follow the selected turf system instructions.
Product checks
- Check welds, handles and accessible edges.
- Verify loading compatibility and specified empty mass.
- Inspect rope terminations and supplied connections.
- Review turf sample, seam layout and roll identification.
- Record the agreed sled-and-surface evaluation where included.
Questions buyers ask.
Can I use any artificial turf?
A decorative turf is not automatically suitable. Review its backing, installation method and behaviour with the actual sled.
Will heavier plates always produce a predictable race feel?
No. Friction and the surface condition affect the result. Use a matched test and avoid claiming exact race equivalence.
Can lanes be branded?
Line colours and branding can be discussed after the turf and lane requirements are confirmed.
